ORIGIN

Bruce Banner was a top scientist for the military that was working on a gamma bomb, a weapon of massive destructive power. During a test of the gamma bomb, Bruce noticed a young teenager by the name of Rick Jones had entered the test site. Bruce rushed to aide the young man, and in pushing Rick into a trench, exposed himself to the rays of the gamma bomb. The radiation penetrated his body, and in times of great stress, would transform him into the monstrous and incredibly powerful Hulk. Although The Hulk can be devastating to his surrounding areas, he has also saved the world countless times. Throughout the years, the Hulk has gone through many different incarnations. Bruce Banner has often looked for many ways to free himself from his alter ego, but to no avail. The Hulk has become in full control at times, at others, he has the appearance and strength of the Hulk, but the mind of Bruce Banner. In other times, he has reverted to his gray form and although had the intellect of Bruce, he also had the savagery of the Hulk. These multiple forms are the result of Bruce's troubled childhood and as a result, his multiple personality disorder. But through it all, the Hulk has remained victorious. The Hulk has been a part of different super teams, such as the Defenders and Avengers. Bruce Banner has now accepted a lot of the Hulk personality, realizing that through the Hulk, he can do good in this world that Bruce Banner would otherwise be unable to.
